Tonight's Homework:
In Class Today: You turned in your Short Story Projects (Yay!) and conducted silent, sustained reading (aka. DEAR time). Homework: Monday we will have a large group discussion over "The Pedestrian," "The Veldt," and "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas." You will need your notes and your short stories during the discussion. This discussion is a Quiz grade (30%). I will use it to replace your lowest quiz grade (that includes the ICTW). You must make at least 4 meaningful contributions to the discussion. (Recall the large group discussion over "The Pedestrian.") Look over the possible crossover questions for a list of topics to consider. Remember, when responding to a question, you must support your response with textual evidence. You may (politely) disagree with each other, but no personal attacks! I look forward to hearing your insights!
